The 2014 Golf Championships

Golf Championships logoThe 2014 GCSAA Golf Championships, presented in partnership with The Toro Company, is bound to be magical. This beloved members-only event, headquartered at the one and only Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, is without a doubt a match made in heaven.

A new Saturday-Monday schedule offers four different events over three days. Are you a casual golfer looking for a good time or an intense competitor hoping to be crowned National Champion? Are you interested in a one-day golf outing or looking for three full days of play? The GCSAA Golf Championships offer something for everyone.

When you're not on the course, take advantage of more than 25 hours of networking opportunities with some of the greatest minds in the golf course management industry. Learn new techniques, best practices and build life-long relationships. It's also a perfect opportunity to make it a family affair and experience the endless activities Disney has to offer.

Saturday, Feb. 1

Tee off your tournament experience and your conference and show week in this one-day fun event filled with contests, camaraderie and friendly competition. You and your partner (you can choose a partner or request to be assigned one from the pool of players) will each play your own ball. The lower score between you will be the score for the hole.

Sunday, Feb. 2

Back by popular demand for the second year, this one-day fun event will feature a traditional Shamble format. Choose your own foursome (or request to be paired randomly from the pool of players) and prepare for a day of fun in the sun. The two low balls in each foursome will be counted and flighted by score.

Golf Classic

Sunday, Feb. 2 – Monday, Feb. 3

As the longest running and most popular of all tournament events, the Golf Classic is a two-day flighted tournament open to all skill levels. This relaxed event features fun contests, prizes, trophies and coveted commemorative pewter plates.

National Championship

Sunday, Feb. 2 – Monday, Feb. 3

For the intense competitor who is ready to make headlines, the GCSAA National Championship is a 36-hole stroke-play event open to the first 100 entrants with a verified handicap index of 5.0 and below. This event sold out last year, so be sure to sign up early - registration opens Nov. 5. An overall champion as well as a senior champion (age 50 and over) will be crowned.
