Standard Golf Co. has unveiled its new Cup Caddie, which is transportable, washable and storable. The Cup Caddie accommodates nine cups per rack, and they’re stackable for easy transport. Daily changing and washing of cups can prevent excess

The newest model of laser rangefinders from Bushnell Outdoor

has been recently unveiled. The Medalist, the successor to the company’s PinSeeker 1500, is a compact measuring device that combines pinpoint accuracy with consistency, letting users range up to 300 yards +/- one yard to the flag without using reflectors, the company says. Offered at a lower price point than the PinSeeker, the Medalist contains the same technology and weighs 9 ounces. Prestwick Golf Group announces the release of its Highlands
Collection of golf course and driving range furnishings. The Highlands Collection gear is made of Everlasting Lumber, a premium-grade recycled plastic. The new design is a maintenance-free portfolio that features arched contours the company says are reminiscent of the mountain ranges of the Highlands region of northern and western Scotland, the birthplace of golf. Broyhill has equipped its Accu-Speed walking boom with an electronic, wireless speedometer. Large, easy-to-read numbers are displayed on the speedometer to ensure safety and accuracy during chemical application, the company says. The walk boom also features a spray gun with trigger lock and 1⁄2-inch couplers for easy operation and quick disconnect; an 80-inch stainless steel boom with eight diaphragm-check nozzle bodies; and semi-pneumatic rubber tires for maneuverability. Underhill launches its Mirage M-160, a super-sized sprinkler with a 164-foot throwing radius. Designed for use on natural or synthetic grass, the M-160 is a piston-driven water cannon that can provide full- or part-circle water distribution. The sprinkler is 23.6 inches high and has an above-grade pop-up height of 23⁄4 inches, the company says. Arc of coverage can be altered from 30 to 360 degrees, and the rotation speed can be modified from 100 to 240 seconds. The M-160 has a 23-degree trajectory. Nozzles range from 16 to 26 mm, and the unit operates at 60 to 120 psi. It can handle between 96 and 300 gallons per minute. A 15.6-inch lid cover is available in green or tan plastic. A two-wire decoder system, which converts any controller to two-wire operation and allows greater system expandability and savings on material and labor, is available as an option.

New additions to the aerator line from Jacobsen, a Textron company, include the PerformAire 60 and the PerformAire 80. Both models are three-point mount, variable depth aerators with flexibility to vent or core-aerate large areas of turf in a short amount of time, the company says. Available with solid or coring tines and capable of depths from 1 to 16 inches, the PerformAire aerators are said to reduce turf compaction and allow oxygen to penetrate through to the deepest part of the root system, promoting deeper root growth and a more robust plant. Profile Products LLC offers its new GreenArmor system, an alternative to hard armor such as rock rip-rap and concrete. The system combines the company’s Enkamat turf reinforcement mat with Flexterra flexible growth medium to provide an economical system that protects against elevated levels of hydraulic lift and forces of slope while encouraging fast turf establishment and long-term root reinforcement. The matrix of Enkamat’s nylon filaments consists of 95 percent open space, so it accepts hydraulically applied Flexterra infill,
the company says. The solution offers more than 99 percent erosion control effectiveness. The GreenArmor system holds 15 times its weight in water and doubles the turf establishment rates of common

The Toro Co. recently unveiled its two-wire Golf Decoder Control
system, an expandable network of buried decoders for golf course irrigation applications. Users can choose between a PC-based system with a 3,200-station capacity and a stand-alone unit with a 200-station capacity. Comprising a central control unit and a customizable number of decoders, the system communicates with the central control to perform irrigation activities. Decoders placed underground eliminate the need for additional wiring to controller boxes, potentially reducing wire and installation costs, the company says. The system uses the latest version of Toro’s SitePro central control software, version 2.2. The PC-based software includes map interface and optional modules for hand-held radio control and weather station interface. The system also can function using a latching solenoid, a design that’s compatible with all Toro’s commercial and golf valves plus electric VIH sprinklers. The newest addition to Becker Underwood’s line of turf products is its Turf Mark Ultra Green high concentrate spray indicator. The high-strength spray pattern indicator offers a discrete but visible mark for the application of pesticides and fertilizers in turf maintenance. The indicator provides a visual aid for optimal placement of a range of spray solutions. Turf Mark Ultra Green dissipates quickly in wet or dry weather, according to the company, which recommends that application equipment be kept clean, in good operating condition and properly calibrated in order to achieve maximum results. The Diamond Hitch from Blue Ox is a heavy-duty hitch with safety features designed for easy installation, the company says. Ideal for hitching work trailers and auto haulers for heavy-duty towing, the Diamond Hitch is a gooseneck format but will be expanded in the future to include fifth wheel trailers. The hitch features the Inverta ball design to allow easy removal of the ball, enabling users to flip it upside down and store it in the hitch, leaving the bed of the pickup unobstructed and flat. The lock to hold the ball into place is contained within the ball, eliminating the need to reach into a fender well to pull a lever or release a lock or cable. A spring-loaded locking system and locking tab for visual verification that the ball is locked are additional features. The Diamond Hitch can handle a 30,000-pound trailer and load. Another new grass trimmer/brush cutter has been added to Tanaka America Inc.’s lineup. The TBC-255PF weighs 11.8 pounds and is powered by the company’s new 25-cc, 1.3-hp PureFire engine. The TBC-255PF replaces the Tanaka TBC-245PF. Other features include a solid steel drive shaft, a 5-inch semi-automatic cutting head, a 23-fluid-ounce see-through fuel tank and a low-profile cutting guard. The new Spray Star 3000 from Smithco features a 300-gallon low-profile fiberglass tank, a 34.5-hp, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled, turbo-charged diesel engine and an all-hydraulic drive. The four-wheel vehicle features a hydrostatic transmission, an auto spring applied, pressure release parking brake, a 12-volt battery, a speed of up to 9 mph and a hydrostatic variable speed pump. The operator’s seat is padded and vinyl-covered with back support, and the company’s Quadra-Jet agitator features four volume boosters. The pump can handle 10 to 70 gallons per minute at 10-80 psi. A high volume centrifugal pump with a silicon-carbide seal comes standard. The dry steel boom reaches 20 feet and includes 12 nozzles with manual operation. It folds behind for storage and transport. New Holland introduces two new models in its “Lean & Mean” TT-A Series tractor line. The 40-hp TT45A and the 48-hp TT50A are available in 2WD with an open operator’s platform and are powered by four-cylinder engines. Customers can choose to fuel the engines with environmentally friendly B5 biodiesel fuel or traditional diesel fuel. The machines’ gearboxes include eight forward and two reverse gears. Large grab handles and a wide step provide easy entering and exiting for the operator. Shift levers are placed to the sides of the operator and don’t interfere with getting in or out of the cab. Sturdy full-length fenders are designed to protect the operator, while the sloped hood provides outstanding visibility, the company says. A three-point hitch on both models can lift 2,500 pounds. Two hydraulic pumps are incorporated into the unit: one that delivers 9.8 gpm flow to the optional rear remotes; and a steering pump that delivers 5.1 gpm of oil flow for quick steering response. John Deere Golf & Turf One Source announces enhancements to its Aurora Professional Series golf irrigation software 6.0. The software, which features a new user-friendly interface, takes such variables as rounds scheduled, weather conditions, time constraints and regional agronomic factors, and calculates a customized irrigation schedule. Now Microsoft Vista compatible, Aurora 6.0 features a direct internet connection with the John Deere Golf Irrigation Help Desk. Turfco Manufacturing announces a new version of its patented three-position control unit on its 2007 WideSpin 1530 topdresser line. The new control unit includes the addition of a throttle control to the existing conveyor belt and spinner controls, which gives crews a heightened ability to reduce the machine’s noise level if golfers are nearby, the company says. The company’s patented WideSpin design lets users topdress heavily up to 15 feet without attachments, or apply light topdressing up to 30 feet. The unit enables an entire topdressing greens job to be completed in 90 minutes, the company says. Additionally, the spinner angle is fully adjustable from zero degrees to 15 degrees for broad applications. Additional features include a Vanguard 11-hp electric-start engine, a galvanized hopper and a hydraulic system that powers belt and spinner plates. A trench-filler attachment also is available. Valley, a division of Thule Towing Systems North America, has unveiled a fifth wheel and gooseneck t-connector in response to a growing demand for convenient ways to provide power to trailers, the company says. Designed to extend the existing seven-way connection into the bed of a pickup truck to be used with a fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch, the t-connector leaves the original trailer wiring connector at the rear of the vehicle in a fully functional mode. This design is different from traditional trailer wiring connections, which are located at the rear bumper of the towing vehicle, the company adds. The t-connector plugs directly between the tow vehicle harness and the factory-sealed seven-way connector. An extra-long 10-foot harness routes easily to the truck bed from underneath the vehicle. Phoenix Environmental Care LLC has added Hawk-I insecticide to its line of products. The insecticide contains imidacloprid, which offers season-long control of grubs, the company says. It is also effective against annual bluegrass weevils, black turfgrass ataenius, Japanese beetle, oriental beetle, mole crickets and Northern and Southern masked chafer. Hawk-I also is said to suppress cutworms and chinch bugs. The substance can also be used on trees, shrubs, flowers and foliage for control of aphids, whiteflies and mealy bugs, the company adds. The all-new EU6500is portable generator from Honda Power Equipment produces 6,500 watts of power with a wave form distortion factor of less than 2.5 percent for a variety of power needs. The unit produces a larger power output for heightened fuel efficiency and quiet operation, the company says. The generator features a separate triple chamber construction, a centralized intake/exhaust system and the Eco-Throttle design. The EU6500is is powered by the Honda GX390 engine, which provides low-emission, four-cycle power to the unit. An overhead valve system incorporates advanced engine technologies, and the unit is said to reduce fuel consumption by 30 percent at ¼ load in comparison to the company’s earlier model, the EX5500. Two new plug-and-play Soil Moisture Smart Sensors from Onset Computer Corp. offer improved accuracy in a range of soil types, according to the company. Compatible for use with HOBO weather stations, the new sensors provide measurements of volumetric water content in soil and integrate Decagon ECH20 dielectric probes for long-term soil moisture monitoring, the company adds. The sensors feature low sensitivity to temperature and saline effects, which broadens the range of soil types that can be monitored to include sandy and high-salinity soils. A compact form enables easy installation, and the Smart Sensor design enables sensors to be plugged into the weather station and automatically recognized without complicated wiring, programming and calibration requirements, the company says. Wiedenmann is introducing the TerraSpike GXi as a complement to its line of deep tine aerification equipment. The unit features the same technology as its TerraSpike XF and TerraSpike XD, but it offers a lighter weight and a tighter hole spacing, the company says. Operable with a tractor as small as 24-hp at depths up to 10 inches, the TerraSpike GXi features a twin drive with either a 385 rpm or 485 rpm. The company also unveils its 74-inch drag brush (pictured) that can expand to measure 160 inches with two wing extensions. It can be operated as a three-point hitch attachment or with an electric actuated or hydraulic bogey wheel system. Options include anti-scalping rollers and rake fingers. Finally, Wiedenmann introduces a 63-inch by 83-inch Verticut Harrow, which is designed to dethatch turf areas as fast as a tractor or utility vehicle can operate safely, the company says. The new D6K track-type tractor from Caterpillar is the first in a new line of the company’s crawler dozers. Standard features are a new hydrostatic drive train, a durable SystemOne undercarriage and seat-mounted electro-hydraulic controls to accommodate installation of Caterpillar’s AccuGrade grade control system. The hydrostatic drive system provides excellent maneuverability, enhanced power turn capability and variable speed control, the company says. Featuring an oscillating track roller frame, the D6K undercarriage keeps more of the track on the ground in uneven terrain. A new, spacious operator station includes a combined deceleration/brake pedal, an optional integrated AccuGrade display, reduced noise levels and excellent visibility, according to the company. A canopy configuration for the cab also is available. Equipped with a C6.6 engine with ACERT technology, the engine produces 125 hp at the flywheel. Rhapsody from AgraQuest Inc. is a biological bactericide/fungicide that protects turf, landscape areas and ornamental plants from a broad spectrum of foliar diseases. Rhapsody contains an active ingredient that’s formulated from a strain of Bacillus subtilis, which produces more than 30 biochemicals that work to destroy disease pathogens, the company says. Applicable on all varieties of turf, Rhapsody can control such diseases as brown patch, anthracnose and dollar spot. The product is labeled for use at rates between 2-10 ounces per 1,000 square feet.
