Gemini, a new series of steel-frame tension-membrane buildings from Cover-All Building Systems, comes in clear-span widths of 70 to 140 feet at 10-foot increments and any length. The tall side wall can easily accommodate a 12-foot overhead door, while the integrated eave system can be expanded to 4 feet to fit most applications, the company says. Gemini trusses are made of square steel tubing and use round structural webbing to brace inner and outer cords. The series’ fabric-membrane allows natural light inside the building, creating an outdoor-like atmosphere and reducing electrical costs. With no interior support poles or posts, unobtrusive space is maximized. A typical building can be installed within weeks. Contact Cover-All Building Systems, 306-657-2793 (www.coverall.net).

Valent Professional Products announces a new formulation of its Velocity herbicide. Velocity 17.6% SG is less concentrated than the original formulation, which makes it easier to measure the amount of product needed to manage Poa annua and Poa trivialis in turf, the company says. Available in a 1-pound bottle, the herbicide contains 5 grams of active ingredient per ounce. The new label includes modifications to the Poa management recommendations for the product. Additionally, the application interval has been extended from seven days to seven to 14 days with Velocity 17.6% SG. Contact Valent Professional Products, 800-898-2536 (www.valentpro.com).

New Holland unveils its new TV6070 Bidirectional tractor with a new 6.7 L engine, a more efficient eight-range transmission and other improvements. The machine’s design allows it to be operated engine-end or cab-end first, and an operator can work facing either the engine or the rear because the company’s Turnabout console rotates the seat and primary controls by 180 degrees so the operator can always face the work. Full-time four-wheel drive and 45-degree articulated steering provide traction and maneuverability in all conditions, the company adds. Both ends of the tractor can be equipped with three-point hitches, drawbars, PTO systems and hydraulic valves that allow hookup to nearly any standard equipment. The TV6070 can come with a front-end loader to turn the tractor into an articulated loader with 12-foot or 14-foot lift heights. A large glass area in the cab provides visibility all around, and the operator can see straight down to the bucket cutting edge with no hood to impede the line of sight. Two new formulations of imidacloprid insecticides from Quali-Pro — Imidacloprid 2F nursery and ornamental and Imidacloprid IG nursery and ornamental granules — bring the company’s portfolio to four insecticides with the ingredient. Imidacloprid 2F offers control in an easily mixable formula that stays in suspension. The insecticide is available in squeeze-and-pour quart bottles to make measuring quick and convenient, the company says. Imidacloprid IG allows for easy spot, broadcast and soil incorporation to soil, bark media and containerized plants. Imidacloprid insecticide supplies broad-spectrum control at a low-use rate of a variety of insects such as whiteflies, aphids, leafhoppers, soft scale and other common insect pests. Quali-Pro also announces it has received EPA registration for Fosetyl-AL 80 WDG fungicide. The product is rapidly absorbed and translocated in the xylem and phloem to provide protection from tip to root. It offers preventive control of Pythium and Phytophthora in ornamentals and other plants. Contact Quali-Pro, 800-979-8994 (www.quali-pro.com).

New enclosures for two major brands of golf cars are available from Fore Concepts Inc. in marine-grade vinyl, solution-dyed polyester and Sunbrella acrylic. The enclosures, designed to fit Club Car and E-Z-Go utility vehicles, feature the company’s DoorWorks patented hinged door that allows easy access in and out of the vehicle. In warm weather the vehicle doors can be secured in an open position while driving, or they can be removed and left elsewhere before use. For additional air flow, the rear clear vinyl windshield can be easily rolled up or removed. Installing DoorWorks enclosures does not require any drilling into the body or roof of the vehicle. SaLibré salts manager from Becker Underwood is developed to remove unwanted salt accumulations from golf greens, tees and other areas prone to salt buildup. Recommended for use especially in soils irrigated with recycled or marginal water, SaLibré is a biodegradable solution that contains a mild organic acid and an organic alkanol amine “soap,” the company says. Adding SaLibré to salt-challenged soils begins a chain of reactions in the soil — calcium is released when the organic acid component of SaLibré reacts with calcium carbonate naturally present in almost all soil. Freed calcium then becomes available for plant use, while freed calcium ions displace sodium ions at exchange sites on soil particles. Users can also reap the benefit of reduced scale accumulation in the irrigation system, the company adds. Noncaustic, SaLibré biodegrades in the soil into basic minerals, carbon dioxide and water. A free video titled “System Information & Installation” is available on CD from The IFH Group. The video provides step-by-step information on how to install the company’s storage and dispensing system for industrial fluids. The system is an alternative to using 55-gallon drums for handling lubricants such as cutting oils, bearing oils, hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids and engine oils. The CD also includes audio and video demonstrations on how two workers can have a system up and running in less than two hours, detailing each step from boltless rack assembly to site gauge and drip pan installation. La Fresh Group announces its all-natural biodegradable insect repellent wipe. The Deet-free towelettes are mild to the skin and are designed to keep bugs away during spring and summer. Packaged in 4-inch individually wrapped units, the wipes are portable and prevent the need to carry around bottles of insect repellent. Contact La Fresh Group, (www.lafreshgroup.com).

LazyMan Liquid Gold from Outside Pride is a three-part natural product designed to aerate, dethatch and condition soil. The chemical-free product adds nutrients, increases air flow and boosts the earthworm population underground. A liquid soil aerator helps to condition the soil, reduce crusting, loosen up hard clay soils, aggregate sandy soil and allow water and oxygen to better reach plant roots by reducing the surface tension between the water and soil. A liquid soil conditioner contains a concentrated form of humic acids called Hydra-Hume. LazyMan Liquid Gold also contains a liquid dethatcher that accelerates natural thatch decomposition and reduces the frequency of mechanical treatments. An advanced formula included in the solution includes naturally occurring microbes that feed on dead plant tissue. Contact Outside Pride, (www.outsidepride.com).

The Toro Co. has expanded its compact equipment line with two new walk-behind trenchers. The Toro TRX-15 and TRX-19 trenchers are gas-powered, feature tracks for more productive operations and provide a low center of gravity and a large footprint for increased stability on side hills and smooth operation on uneven terrain. The models’ zero-turn capability allows easy access even in confined areas. A light footprint with ground pressure as low as 4.1 psi means existing turf will not be damaged during transport, the company says. Each machine trenches up to 36 inches. Both the 15-hp model and the 19-hp TRX model include four-cycle, V-twin engines. A large oil reservoir helps maintain low engine temperature and prolong engine life. A dual-element air cleaner is designed to improve air flow and performance and reduce engine wear. Contact The Toro Co., 800-344-8676 (www.toro.com/trx).

A new professional nozzle kit for syringing golf course greens in hot weather has been unveiled by Underhill. CoolPro creates a water pattern that applies 4 to 6 gallons per minute within a 25-foot radius. Equipped with a patented Precision nozzle and valve, CoolPro offers a cooling mist to help prevent wilting without interfering with the speed of play. An ergonomically-designed handle valve has an easy grip and adjustable on/off control. Zinc and aircraft aluminum features in the metal design offer greater durability, the company says. The cooling mist can eliminate the stress associated with summer golf, including overheated turf, overwatered greens and soggy, unresponsive play. Contact Underhill, 866-863-3744 (www.underhill.us).

A new compact track loader suspension system from Bobcat Co. uses all-steel components to increase operator comfort. The new roller suspension system is available as an option on the Bobcat T320 compact track loader and will be added to other Bobcat loader models later this year. The rollers are suspended by high-strength steel leaf springs to reduce vibration, and the new system also requires less steering lever effort to turn the loader. Track idlers have been raised, making the machine easier to turn. The undercarriage frame enhances debris shedding when working in muddy conditions, preventing material from clogging the rollers and keeping the loader running. New clean-out holes allow access for pressure washers. The suspension system does not require greasing and adjusting — rollers are permanently sealed and lubricated with synthetic oil, eliminating the need for regular maintenance. Drive motor and hydraulic lines are kept in fixed positions to limit the potential for hoses becoming snagged. Contact Bobcat Co., (www.bobcat.com).
