America’s struggling economy has left few industries unaffected, and golf course management is no exception.

Following our story in the January issue that focused on the economy’s impact on individual superintendents, this month’s issue of GCM turns its attention to industry, and how interests ranging from the manufacturing sector to turfgrass research are working through our current economic challenges. We also examine frost, its causes, its impact on golf and how superintendents can look ahead and forecast frost at their facility.

This month’s cover features design work by Roger Billings, senior manager of art/production, and Kelly Neis, prepress/production specialist.
