Chapter Delegates Meeting registration due Sept. 7
The 2012 Chapter Delegates Meeting will be held at the Hilton Kansas City Airport in Kansas City, Mo. and at GCSAA Headquarters in Lawrence, Kan. Oct. 5-7. Registration forms and more information on the meeting can be found online.

2012 Research Grant Program proposals due Sept. 17
GCSAA is now accepting research proposals to the 2012 Chapter Cooperative Research Grant Program. The funds are available through a grant from the EIFG. GCSAA is seeking applied, problem solving projects that will assist superintendents and the facilities they manage address agronomic and environmental issues. Superintendents and turfgrass scientists are encouraged to work together to develop proposals. Submit proposals by Sept. 17, 2012.

Nominating Committee announces 2013 BOD slate
The GCSAA Nominating Committee has announced the nominees for the 2013 GCSAA Board of Directors. The election will take place on Feb. 7 during the Annual Metting.

2013 EGR nominations open
The GCSAA Excellence in Government Relations Award recognizes and honors an individual, chapter or coalition/alliance that demonstrates outstanding advocacy or compliance efforts in government relations. Does your chapter have dedicated members working for the good of the chapter and profession? Nominate them today.

Applications for ELGAs open
Applications for the 2012 GCSAA/Golf Digest Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards are now available online. The ELGAs, presented in partnership with Syngenta and Rain Bird, Golf Division, recognize golf course superintendents and golf courses for their commitment to environmental stewardship. The deadline for applications is Oct. 19, 2012.

New Narrowbanding Law goes into effect Jan. 1
Upcoming changes mandated by the Federal Communications Commission will impact more than the handheld radio systems many use to communicate with their crew, irrigation system and the like. By midnight Dec. 31, 2012, everyone using wideband VHF and UHF radio systems must either switch to narrowband (12.5 kHz channel spacing) or employ a technology that achieves equivalent efficiency. The GCSAA and NGCOA hosted a one-hour webcast to learn more about these changes. It is now available On Demand.
