GCSAA courses meet criteria for Ontario CECs

Two GCSAA online courses, “Understanding Insect Pests on Golf Courses” and “Advanced Principles of Insect Pest Management,” both qualify under guidelines established by the IPM Council of Canada for continuing education credits (CECs) under its IPM Accreditation Program.

Ontario's cosmetic pesticides ban took effect April 22, 2009. In order to continue using pesticides in maintenance operations, all existing golf courses must be fully accredited in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) by April 22, 2012. The bottom line is that golf course managers will need annual continuing education requirements. Read more.

Approval of these courses by the IPM Council will help those with limited education budgets meet the criteria. Affordably priced and requiring no travel, these self-paced courses were developed with Rick Brandenburg, Ph.D. Online exam scores are sent directly to our database for streamlined processing. Once you've finished an entire course, send GCSAA an e-mail to request your certificate of completion for submission to the IPM Council.
