Education points

One education point is defined as 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education program. Education points are required for application to Class A membership and the certification program, as well as for renewal of these designations.

Taking and passing a seminar exam is no longer the criteria for receiving GCSAA education points. To have education points recorded, an attendance/evaluation form must be completed and turned in at the conclusion of the seminar. No service points will be awarded for GCSAA seminars.

Education points for GCSAA seminars break down the following ways:

  • Two-hour seminar:  .2 education points
  • Half-day seminar: 0.35 education points
  • Six-hour seminar: 0.55 education points
  • Full-day seminar: 0.7 education points

Seminar fees

The price for each seminar is listed with its description. The fees cover a seminar manual, beverage service, and lunch unless otherwise noted.

Textbooks

Some GCSAA instructors may either require or strongly recommend a textbook for the seminars they teach. If you are participating in one of these seminars, you may bring your own copy, borrow one, or purchase one from the GCSAA Store.

Registration

To register for a conference seminar, you must fill out an official conference registration form, available at the conference and show portion of this site (October - February) or in the Conference and Show brochure. Your registration can be submitted online, or by fax or mail, according to brochure instructions.

Dress code

The appropriate dress for a GCSAA seminar is casual business attire (slacks and collared shirts for men, similar attire for women); jackets are recommended.

Certificates

Seminar certificates are mailed upon request only. You may indicate your request for a certificate on the back side of the attendance/evaluation form during the seminar or contact GCSAA Member/Customer Solutions at (800) 472-7878 four to six weeks following the seminar to request your seminar certificate.
