advice:"This isn't a
golf course where you can spray it around and still save par,"
Dennis says. "Once you're out of the mowed grass and in the
rocks, native grass or trees, you're in serious trouble."
Another must, he adds, is to be able to read Canyon Springs'
large, undulating greens well and have good speed control with the
putter.

Dennis:"It's been an
ongoing education in a short time for me. I'm still a working
superintendent. I like to get out there and get my hands dirty. I
like to be with the crew, training them, showing them how to do
things. I rely on my overall experience and natural instincts in
building a relationship with my staff. I don't expect them to work
any harder than I do." |
